People’s Choice Award

The competition is now closed.
While the official judging is under way, here’s your chance to vote for your favourite pollinator photography for 2022.

The 2022 Pollinator Photography Competition is encouraging everyone to get out and capture bees and other pollinators in their local environment, whether it’s in an urban garden, on a nature strip or on a remote farm.

The 2022 Pollinator Photography Competition is proudly supported by the Wheen Bee Foundation and Rotarians for Bees, and sponsored by IWooHoo Beekeeping Supplies and Beechworth Honey.

The competition will award prizes to the best pictures of bees and other pollinators taken in Australia as judged by the APW Pollinator Photography Competition Judging Panel.

Categories

Open

First prize: $1,500
Runner-up: $500

Sponsored by IWooHoo Beekeeping Supplies.

Schools

There’s a separate category for students, with the best picture from a secondary school student and a primary school student each receiving $500 for their school.

Secondary School student prize: $500 for their nominated school.

Primary School Student prize: $500 for their nominated school.

Entries

Submissions open on 1 October and will be accepted until Thursday 10 November 2022.

Winners Announcement

Winners will be announced at the Discover Bees Through Photography webinar on 15 November 2022. The webinar starts at 7.30pm.

Winners will be published on the Australian Pollinator Week website by 9pm on 15 November 2022.

Winners will be contacted by the Wheen Bee Foundation to receive their prize.

2022 Pollinator Photography Competition Terms and Conditions.

  1. The competition is run by Wheen Bee Foundation (ABN 84 139 073 082), 96 Harbours Rd Yendon Victoria 3352, Australia.
  2. Employees of the Wheen Bee Foundation including staff and freelance contributors, are not permitted to enter.
  3. Each photographer retains copyright of his or her images, and proper credit lines will be attributed to each photographer when used in any publicity of Australian Pollinator Week, Wheen Bee Foundation or partners and sponsors Rotarians for Bees, Beechworth Honey and IWoohoo.
  4. The entrant authorises Wheen Bee Foundation and competition sponsors Rotarians for Bees, Beechworth Honey or IWoohoo to display, print, and distribute in any manner any photographs entered in this competition to conduct and promote the competition.
  5. To win the competition and be eligible to receive a prize, you must be an Australian citizen or current Australian resident. Prizes will only be delivered within Australia.
  6. The entrant must be the copyright owner of any images he/she enters into the competition.
  7. Any post-production and editing must be the work of the entrant.
  8. The entrant is responsible for obtaining all relevant model and/or property releases.
  9. The entrant indemnifies Wheen Bee Foundation against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of publication of the image.
  10. By entering the photograph into this competition the entrant guarantees to Wheen Bee Foundation that the above entry requirements have been met.
  11. This is not a game of chance.
  12. The winner of the competition will be selected by the judging panel as appointed by Wheen Bee Foundation The judge’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  13. The prize cannot be bartered and is not redeemable for any alternative.
